A men’s lightly cabled, semi-dressy sock with flap heel, in a toe-up PDF or top-down PDF file. In both files, the directions are worked on 4 double pointed needles, with a fifth used to turn the heel, OR magic loop, OR two circulars. The instep and front of the leg are cabled, and the back of the leg is worked in 1×1 rib to keep the sock taut.
The instructions in this pattern are based on stitch counts (around) and measurements (lengths) so it can accommodate a (small) variety of needle/yarn sizes and a (large) variety of foot sizes. Suggested gauge of 7-8 stitches/inch, and stitch counts range from 64 to 76 stitches around, which will fit women’s medium to men’s extra large. Worksheets are included to determine both stitch count and lengths.
Also included under “Techniques” section in the toe-up version: cabling without a cable needle, a stretchy bind-off, and links to extra cast-on and bind-off resources.
Also included under “Techniques” section in the top-down version: cabling without a cable needle and links to grafting resources.
